Beyond the Prelude.
When the question "What is your favorite characteristic of God?" is asked, most people respond with a "church word" like faithful, holiness, or righteousness. Great answers, I just choose to pick a word that I can relate with.
My answer is His creativity.
Let's start at the beginning. Genesis.
He made the universe. Stars. Exploding gas balls of light. Light, in general.
He's crafted earth with the vast mountain rages, topped with snow caps and a foliage horizon.
He made the sky that changes each day and controls the weather that is vital to life.
He created all the creatures of the earth, sea, and air.
He created all the creatures of the earth, sea, and air.
All the gigantic elephants, the funny looking ostriches, the record-fast cheetahs.
He made birds to fly and sing above the exotically colorful fish of the seas.
He created man. A masterpiece.
When you are passionate about anatomy, you are astounded that our God could think of and create the complexities that make our bodies breathe, see color, and feel joy.
This was the beginning! Just the prelude to the great symphony.
He went on, and continues each day to create beauty.
He went on, and continues each day to create beauty.
Imagine what He'll create in eternity.
He is artistic in each new creation. Delicate, whimsical, intricate, mysterious, awesome. To create is His delight.
"All the good and beautiful things from which we occasionally drink tiny droplets of soul- exhilarating joy, God continuously experiences in all their breadth and depth." The beauty He creates is HIS LIFE.
His life IS beauty, creativity, unending happiness, and artistic power.
Then, God shares it with me. His life is mine. His creativity I can take part in. I am made in His image with creative power.
Two words: OH BOY.
